Boiler maintenance is needed to ensure your boiler runs safely, effectively, and with the least amount of possible boiler repairs. You will be granted a certificate after all of the mandatory safety tests have been done. This certificate is evidence that all appliances are secure to use.

Emergency Boiler Repairs

A boiler repair involves working with gas, so only Gas Safe registered engineers can legally work on a gas boiler. This is the big difference between a plumber and a heating engineer – plumbers don't need to have any Gas Safe qualifications. Maintenance

System Power Flush

A power flush is the process of cleaning out a central heating system by circulating high volumes of (forced) water and cleaning agents around a heating system to remove debris, rust etc. You may need a power flush if you have any of these problems:

• Cold spots on the radiators or radiators that don’t heat up at all

• Discoloured water when you bleed the radiators or in severe cases when you run the tap

• Excessive noise from the boiler unit or the circulation pump

• Poor or non-existent hot water even when the system has been running for a while

If the entire system is showing signs of bad circulation or you notice more than two of the signs mentioned above then a powerflush may be worth considering.

The result of powerflushing is that the boiler and the rest of the central heating system become more efficient. This occurs because there is better circulation through the pipe work and the radiators and in turn the boiler doesn’t have to work as hard to warm the house and water. Therefore the overall result is that you save money on your gas bills.
